Recently TRAI came out with the recommendation of reserve prices for various spectrum bands for the next auction. One must be curious to know about the model they have used in calculation of reserve prices. It is actually very simple. The purpose of this note is to explain this model and investigate whether it is biased towards the last bid value (price emanating out of the last auction).
