Data is often not available in a format suitable for immediate visualization. Preparing such data requires extensive processing that goes beyond the capabilities of standard off-the-shelf tools. Over the years, I have focused on visualizing complex datasets to facilitate deep-dive analysis and enable accurate understanding of situations, ultimately supporting better business and policy decisions.
During this journey, I have encountered numerous challenges that conventional tools cannot address effectively. For instance, data is frequently provided in PDF format, and while tools like Adobe’s offerings attempt to convert it into Excel, the output often requires significant manual cleanup. One common issue is the merging of multiple data points into a single cell, making it unusable for visualization.
