We all know that data speeds are directly proportionate to the total bandwidth. But why? The purpose of this note is to explain this fact and the physical boundaries beyond which no semiconductor technology and ever go. This limitation will drive Moore’s law obsolete. But to understand the reason, we need to start with the fundamentals.
Why do Digital Systems always work on “Ones” & “Zeros”?
Digital networks exchange data in binary form, i.e. in Ones and Zeros. Why? This is due to the fact that detecting Ones and Zeros is easy from the background noise. If a receiver is required to detect mote states will get confused. The following diagram explains.
